Collaborative, innovative research

The University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is known for its research in fields such as space science, climate and the environment, heritage, health, epidemiology, disability, sociology, materials, complex systems and public policy.

By building on strong partnerships with research organizations (CNRS, INSERM, CEA, INRA, INRIA, etc.) and breaking down barriers between disciplines, UVSQ fosters the emergence of new research themes which aim to address the major scientific, technological, economic and societal challenges of today.

UVSQ's research policy is structured around eight focus areas backed by our recognized centers of scientific excellence. Our distinctive interdisciplinary research builds on collaboration from the local to international levels, including at European level with the Horizon 2020 program.

UVSQ is involved in about twenty projects in the French government's "Investments for the Future" program, including Handimedex, the promising university hospital project, Constances, the national biology and health research infrastructure, the i-Share cohort, the Vedecom Institute for Energy Transition, and the Patrima Labex laboratory.

UVSQ is a founding member of Université Paris-Saclay and is fully engaged alongside its university and research partners in developing one of the top 10 centers of higher education and research in the world.

Multi-scale research conducted through local, national, and international networks:

  • a foundation for heritage research
  • two institutes for energy transition: Vedecom and the Île-de-France Photovoltaic Institute
  • a public interest group: the Château de Versailles Research Center
  • five scientific interest groups
  • research groups and service groups
  • international associated laboratories with labs in Japan, Russia, Monaco, etc. focused on themes in engineering, chemistry, and health.
