Cycle de conférences dédiées à l'Arctique

Le laboratoire IRAM/MIARCTIC organise un cycle de conférences intitulé Malaurie Guest Lecture Series avec 4 conférences pour les étudiants du programme Arctic Studies et tous les autres étudiants et collègues intéressés.

Le programme des lectures d'invités en hommage à Jean Malaurie est le suivant :
  • 12 December 2024, 10:00-12:30 - Pigga Keskitalo (University of Lapland):
    "Exploring Sámi Educational Premises: Lessons from the Past, Challenges of the Present"
    Pigga Keskitalo is a Full Professor of education at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi (Finland) and the Sámi University of Applied Sciences in Kautokeino (Norway) and adjunct Professor at the University of Helsinki.
    The living conditions in the Arctic region especially long distances, varying conditions due to climate change and the special nature of the region require educational offers which are the basis of good conditions for children, young people, families and all people in the Arctic. In her lecture, Prof. Keskitalo will give an insight into the dynamic changes in Sápmi and the need for inclusive thinking, as well as the importance of understanding the meaning of time and place in teachers training and providing education for children and young people.

    "The Physical Geography of the North Polar Sea, Baltic German Polar Research and Russian Empire in the 19th century”
    Erki Tammiksaar is Associate Professor in History and Geography and Director of the Centre for Science Studies, Karl Ernst von Baer House at the Estonian University of Life Sciences.

  • 30 January 2025, 13:00-15:00 - Thomas Mohnike (University of Strasbourg):
    "Loss Northern. Reflections on Nostalgic Transformations of the Geographies of European Identities in a Long-Term Perspective"
    Thomas Mohnike is Full Professor for Scandinavian Studies at the University of Strasbourg and Dean of the Faculty of Languages.
