Exchange programs

The University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines is a recognized member of the Erasmus + Program and maintains links with over 100 partner universities across Europe. In addition to the Erasmus agreements that UVSQ has with numerous European universities, UVSQ has also set up exchange programs independent of Erasmus with countries around the world. You can explore all the offerings on the map.

Students wishing to come from a foreign institution should check to see if there is an existing agreement and apply through their university if possible.

  • Erasmus exchanges are based on agreements between specific departments within separate universities. This means that each department has a specific set of partnerships. If you are interested in attending UVSQ you should check with your home university, your department, or the UVSQ Projetcts and International Relations Office to see if there is an agreement in your subject area.
  • Term dates: UVSQ courses are based on a semester system, divided into a Fall term (semester I) from mid-September to mid-January and a Spring term (semester II) from mid-January to mid-May, with some exams continuing until the end of June. Please click here (site only available in French) if you wish to find out dates relating to specific courses of study.
  • Possible study periods: UVSQ welcomes exchange students for both the Fall and Spring terms.
  • Language Requirements: Depending on your course of study you will need to have a certain level of language proficiency before arriving at UVSQ. In general, we recommend that all Erasmus students have a minimum B2 level of French proficiency and some courses of study may require proficiency in a second language as well. If you have specific questions about language requirements, please contact the Bureau des étudiants étrangers.
  • Application forms and procedures: Applications for exchanges must come from your home university and are generally for the next academic year. Students should contact their university’s International Relations Office to find out about how to apply.
  • Once you have been selected by your home university to complete a semester or year at UVSQ, you need to submit an online application. When the online form has been submitted, a PDF of your application will be generated which you will need to print out. You must have this document signed (on the last page) by the head of department or institute of your home university, then send it by email to the Bureau des étudiants étrangers.
  • Accommodation: Students selected for an exchange program at the UVSQ can apply for a room in a university residence. You will receive the necessary information from the Bureau des étudiants étrangers. The Accommodation Office can also help you search for private housing.
